My education started in Italy, continued in Switzerland and Austria for my university years, with the last part of my ph.d. spent in Vancouver, Canada.

Ph.D. summa cum laude in Communication Sciences and Instructional Design at the University of Lugano with the title E²ML – Educational Environment Modeling Language. Supervisor prof. Marco Colombetti. Member of the doctoral school NewMinE – New Media in Education, supported by a grant by Fondazione Daccó.
The last part of Ph.D. was accomplished as visiting scholar at Distance Education & Technologies at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, under the supervision of Dr. Rick Kenny and with the advice of Prof. Tony Bates.
Master degree (July 2000)
Master of science summa cum laude (9,83/10, Licenza) in Communication Sciences and Communication Technologies at the University of Lugano. My thesis was on adaptive hypermedia systems in education; theme of the final exam were digital libraries. Supervisor prof. Marco Colombetti.
Alstom Power price for the best graduation in the academic year 1999/2000.
The last year before completing the master was spent as intern at the Technische Universität in Vienna (Austria) at the Database and Artificial Intelligence Institute with Dr. Riccardo Peratello and prof. G. Gottlob.
